FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Highlights:
- Basic knowledge of horticulture and/or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of a combination of education and experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work in greenhouse conditions found with high humidity and varying temperatures.
Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
- Identify major plant groups, being aware of their culture and growth traits.
- Solve problems, identify plant diseases and the existence of insects.
- Work independently and part of a team.
- Planning, organizing and attention to detail.
- How to safely manage and apply chemicals i.e., fertilizers, herbicides, etc.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Loading/unloading of plant deliveries.
- Identify, organize, and "tag" plants for retail sale.
- Proper watering and care of plants.
- Climb a ladder/step stool.
- Walk/stand while performing job responsibilities.
- Professional work appearance.
- Provide communication/updates to General Manager and Store Manager.
- Maintain inventories.
Work Schedule:
- Combination of both weekday and some weekends.
- Able to work 12 months out of the year.
- Part time to Full time hours.
